Promotions
Offer automatic discounts or eligible interest-free installments with controlled limits.
Promotions apply benefits automatically when a purchase meets their conditions. Buyers do not enter a code. Use coupons for campaigns that require a code.
Create a promotion
You need access to manage promotions in the active account and environment.
- Open Collections → Promotions and select Create promotion.
- Enter a name and optional buyer-facing description. Choose whether to show the benefit in checkout.
- Select one currency and one benefit: percentage discount, fixed discount or interest-free installments.
- Configure eligibility: any payment method or card, then optionally restrict the payment count, card type, network, bank or additional BIN prefixes.
- Optionally restrict participating products and Payment Links. Without a selection, that dimension is unrestricted.
- Configure validity, time zone, stacking and limits. For monetary discounts, choose the first payment, a number of cycles or the full subscription.
- Review and save. Check the effective state before sharing an offer.
Each promotion has exactly one currency with no currency conversion. Create another promotion for another currency. If a campaign needs both a discount and installment financing, create two promotions and configure their compatibility.
Select the promotion in the Payment Link editor as well. A scope restriction determines which offers are eligible; it does not automatically attach a campaign to every checkout. Product-restricted promotions calculate their discount only on eligible lines.
Choose conditions and limits
| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Minimum purchase | Subtotal after product discounts, before promotions and coupons |
| Maximum discount per purchase | Cap for a percentage promotion; a fixed discount already defines its own maximum |
| Discount budget | Total discounts available across reserved and consumed applications |
| Total uses | Maximum reserved or consumed applications across customers |
| Uses per customer | Maximum reserved or consumed applications for one customer |
If remaining budget cannot cover the full discount, the promotion does not apply. It is not reduced to consume the remainder. A confirmed payment consumes its reservation; released or canceled operations return availability.
For bank restrictions, review the verified card coverage. A bank without coverage needs supported additional BIN prefixes before activation. Card eligibility is confirmed during checkout; displaying a potential benefit before entering a card does not guarantee that card qualifies.
Payment-count conditions
Payment count is an eligibility condition, separate from the benefit. A percentage or fixed discount can apply only to one payment, or to selected installment counts. For example, create a 60% discount restricted to one payment and a separate 40% discount restricted to six payments. A condition above one payment requires a card; a one-payment condition can apply to any one-time payment method.
When you restrict cards, each configured type, network and bank condition must match. Multiple selected values within a condition are alternatives. Additional BIN prefixes remain explicit exceptions to bank and network filters.
Stacking and subscription duration
Configure compatibility separately with product discounts, coupons and other promotions. Competing incompatible promotions use the greatest effective saving; priority resolves equal savings, followed by age. See Combine discounts.
For a discount lasting several cycles, the initial charge counts as the first cycle. Recurring invoices respect remaining uses and budget: a cycle without enough availability is billed without that promotion. Interest-free installment benefits apply only to the initial charge.
Interest-free installments
Choose participating installment counts from 1 to 36, including at least one count of two or more. One payment is not a financing benefit. Installment promotions require a card and cannot include minimum purchase, discount cap or monetary budget.
Availability depends on confirmed financing for the account, country, currency and actual card plan. A promotion awaiting activation remains pending; review and activate it after confirmation. Checkout shows interest-free installments only when the financed total equals the final purchase amount. A plan with a surcharge does not qualify.
States and checkout visibility
A promotion can be active, scheduled, paused, expired, pending activation or archived. Dates use the selected time zone. Open its actions to edit or archive it, or edit its active setting to pause it.
Hiding a promotion from the checkout's available-benefit list does not prevent application. Applied benefits still appear in the final breakdown. Test the offer in Sandbox with an eligible and ineligible payment method and review the final amount before publishing.
Troubleshooting
- Not listed in a link: check activation and archival state.
- Not applied: check currency, dates, purchase minimum, products, link, card and stacking.
- Limits exhausted: review reserved as well as consumed uses and budget.
- Installments unavailable: verify activation, participating count and the actual plan. Do not promise financing based only on the promotion configuration.
