Combine discounts
Understand the calculation order and which benefits apply to a purchase.
Product discounts belong to catalog prices. Promotions apply automatically to eligible purchases. Coupons require a code. Several configured benefits do not guarantee several applied benefits: eligibility and stacking determine the final quote.
Calculation order
- Start with the list price and quantities.
- Apply the product discount.
- Apply compatible monetary promotions to their eligible calculation bases.
- Apply a valid coupon when compatibility permits it.
- Quote installments on the resulting amount.
A product-restricted promotion uses only participating lines. Purchase minimums for promotions are checked after product discounts, before promotions and coupons. Monetary benefits cannot make the payable amount negative.
Configure compatibility
In Collections → Promotions, edit compatibility with product discounts, coupons and other promotions separately. A promotion may be eligible but excluded because another benefit is incompatible.
When incompatible promotions compete, Pharos chooses the greatest effective saving, including applicable caps. For equal savings, higher priority wins; if still tied, the oldest promotion wins. High priority does not override a larger effective discount.
Example with compatible benefits
Assume an eligible purchase in ARS with all stacking enabled:
| Step | Amount |
|---|---|
| List price | ARS 100,000 |
| Product discount | −ARS 20,000 |
| Base after product discount | ARS 80,000 |
| 10% promotion capped at ARS 6,000 | −ARS 6,000 |
| Base after promotion | ARS 74,000 |
| Fixed coupon | −ARS 5,000 |
| Final purchase amount | ARS 69,000 |
A compatible two-installment interest-free plan would finance ARS 69,000. Financing is displayed separately from monetary savings and requires confirmation of a real eligible plan.
On an ARS 80,000 base, a non-stackable 10% promotion capped at ARS 6,000 loses to a compatible-with-the-purchase fixed promotion of ARS 7,000, even if the percentage promotion has higher priority.
Verify and troubleshoot
Test the offer in Sandbox and inspect the final breakdown, including product discount, each promotion, coupon and installment total. Change the card or coupon and check the recalculated amount before confirming.
If a benefit is missing, check dates, currency, products, link, card, limits and compatibility. For a recurring promotion, also check its duration and remaining availability. Review the invoice to confirm what was actually recorded; a potential promotion displayed before payment is not the final result.
